Test Engineer

A sector leading manufacturer is currently developing a number of new innovative products and has a new vacancy for a Test Engineer. The successful candidate will support the development and testing of Electronic Control Units, Battery Systems and Hardware. Candidates are sought with experience in a similar role gained in a highly regulated industry (automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, etc).

The Role

Establish and design test content and plans.

Conduct a range of testing including performance, life cycle, durability, safety and environmental on ECU’s, Battery Systems, Hardware and Electronic Components.

Ensure tests are correctly performed in conformance with various international and customer standards including robust recording and reporting.

Work closely with customers to establish testing requirements to ensure tests deliver the required information and are delivered in a timely manner.

Undertake analysis of results and report writing.

Ensure all Health and Safety and quality procedures are adhered to.
Apply continuous improvement methods to activities and facilities.

The Person

Hands on experience performing tests within a lab or workshop environment.

Previously worked on electrical systems, batteries, sub-systems or electronics.

Ideally will have worked in a highly regulated industry (aerospace, automotive, defence, energy, etc)

Experienced of CAN analysis tools and data loggers.

Development and commissioning of test rigs and apparatus.
Ability and experience of writing technical reports.

Positive and professional attitude with a customer focus.

Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
