Group Operations Manager

Following significant investment & expansion, a manufacturer of complex components to the Aerospace & Defence sectors has a new vacancy for Group Operations Manager to join the company. Taking overall responsibility for site operations, candidates are sought with previous experience working in the Aerospace sector and a proven track record of developing new processes, employee development and improving operational efficiency.

The Role

Lead site operations to meet company targets & improve efficiency.

Driving a positive culture with a right first-time attitude.

Direct and coordinate manufacturing operations to meet production schedules, cost targets, and quality standards.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement lean manufacturing practices.

Manage budgets, KPIs, and operational targets to meet delivery and quality goals.

Identify and introduce new technology solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Develop, mentor and lead production team across multiple departments.

Establish clear expectations and conduct regular reviews/team meetings providing feedback to the operations team.

Develop and execute processes to meet company goals, focusing on quality, safety, and performance metrics.

Optimise planning and lead times while ensuring readiness to support demand.

The Person

Proven experience in an Operational leadership position gained in a complex manufacturing / engineering environment.

Previous experience working in the aerospace sector.

Excellent leadership and influencing skills, able to motivate and coach teams.

Commercially astute, supporting the business in the achievement of its growth and financial targets.

Ability to manage complex projects, troubleshoot problems, and meet tight deadlines.

Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
