Operations Manager

A global manufacturer of precision components is expanding its UK operations and following significant investment in advanced manufacturing machinery, the company has a new vacancy for an Operations Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing operations meet customer requirements and performance targets. Candidates are sought with previous operational leadership experience gained in a complex manufacturing environment and a track record of improving processes & developing operational teams.

The Role

Lead and manage day-to-day manufacturing and operational activities.

Drive production efficiency, productivity and operational excellence.

Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives, including Lean manufacturing principles.

Ensure production targets, quality standards and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.

Manage, motivate and develop operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

Monitor operational KPIs, identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

Manage budgets, resources and operational costs to maximise profitability.

Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality standards.

Work collaboratively with departments including Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Commercial.

The Person

A proven track record of managing manufacturing operations.

Previous experience working in a complex precision engineering highly regulated sector preferred.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, engage and develop teams.

Excellent organisational, planning and problem-solving abilities.

A good understanding of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

Strong commercial awareness and the ability to make sound operational decisions.

Excellent communication with strong influencing skills.
