Indirect Commodity Manager

Vectis Recruitment are exclusively partnering with a global leader in the manufacture of complex components for the Aerospace & Defence sectors to recruit an experienced and strategic Indirect Commodity Manager. Joining at a time of significant international expansion, you will manage the global procurement of indirect goods and services, ensuring strategic sourcing, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration.

The Role:

Lead sourcing activities for full range of indirect commodities including Travel, IT, services, Software, Engineering, Facilities, etc.

Solicit indirect product & services quotations, perform cost analysis functions, lead cross functional teams to achieve program cost goals.

Participate in supplier selections and introduction of new sources for indirect commodity spend.

Maintain current knowledge of market conditions that affect overall cost, lead time, and availability.

Maintain determined follow-up process to ensure quality and schedule compliance.

Continuously improve supplier performance by understanding business requirements and aligning suppliers with business needs.

Participate in supplier quarterly reviews and communicate expectations.

Work closely with global Purchasing Managers to negotiate favourable contracts and long-term agreements.

The Person

Proven track record in end-to-end indirect commodity spend.

Experience working in a complex manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred but not essential).

Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, supply chain, or related field

Knowledge of lean manufacturing processes and supplier relationship management.

Proficient in purchasing range of indirect products and services (Software, IT, Travel, Energy, CAPEX, etc).

Ability to meet supply chain goals, reduce total landed costs and develop supplier partnerships.

Experience in negotiating with suppliers, vendors, and carriers to secure favourable pricing and contracts.

Impeccable integrity, strong communication and presentation skills.

Excellent advanced skills with Microsoft Suite software (Excel, Word, Power Point).
